Controversy erupted on Twitter after @uduala_ pointed accusing fingers at a Twitter influencer, @UnilagOlodo for raping her when she visited him sometime in June. From the responses to the thread below, it’s glaring that in 2017, Nigerians are still clueless about what constitutes rape and the very basic concept of consent.
Here’s @udala_’s story:
By the time we got to his place I was already sleepy, and he didn't seem to find any entertainment (we were supposed to watch HTGAWM online but he couldn't find a good site) so I just decided to eat and sleep. We were on the same bed but slept on opposite sides at first

I spoke about this yesterday with @OtunbaBillz and he went to his dm. This is what @OtunbaBillz told me he said about the whole thing pic.twitter.com/GavP4xT2vh

Lol I'm blackmailing him, for what? Money? A 5.0CGPA? He kept saying he never intended for it to get this far and that this looks like a setup. Ok.

Reactions:
Smells fishy
I’ve got questions
We were supposed to watch HTGAWM online! What's that HTGAWM?
You eat and slept alone in a stranger's home?
Did your parents and siblings if any knows you were visiting that guy?
How come your friend didn't go with you since you both planned to go?
Must you go alone?— AYANLOLA ABDULJELIL (@owolabitaiwo) November 26, 2017

*You had a BF and you went to sleep in another dudes bed?
*you had a BF & you accepted "just cuddling"
*He gave you orals, like he forced orals on you (I cant picture it)?
*At a point during cuddling, you could leave the bed, But you couldn't later on?
*you went with your friend? pic.twitter.com/BVCQOLEWhR— Goals From Batshuayi ◢ ◤ (@greatstar360) November 26, 2017

You were not raped
It's rape cos it was done against her will under duress, simple. She said no to penetration, tried to fight him, he didn't stop = rape.
— ?️K ?? (@bk_browne) November 25, 2017
Her collecting anything or buying a pill to keep herself from getting impregnated by a rapist isn't what determines rape.
— ?️K ?? (@bk_browne) November 25, 2017
It’s your fault
I really am not picking sides but u should be more prudent, why test the Animal instinct in a man by going all those lengths? Taking Uber, taking ice cream, changing ur Jean etc.. May his Ancestors fight u for putting urself & him thru this trial…

Ladies, take precautions
There are a few things we need to understand clearly:
The is evil in this world. And that is not going to change ever.
— The Pe@cock (@WoleOdeleye) November 28, 2017
Evil manifests itself in countless forms: war, hate, greed, violence, envy, lust. But while we pay attention to its form, we don't forget it's core essence : unchanging evil
— The Pe@cock (@WoleOdeleye) November 28, 2017
While it's important we do not blame the victims of a manifestation of evil, it is pure stupidity to say we shouldn't tell people to take precautions so that they do not become victims of evil.
— The Pe@cock (@WoleOdeleye) November 28, 2017
We can shout and bay in the manner of chastised donkeys, but it won't stop evil from being what it is. It won't stop evil from trying to spread and cause harm
— The Pe@cock (@WoleOdeleye) November 28, 2017
You can tell a person "don't steal". You can equally create controls to ensure they cannot steal.
And you can create securities to prevent theft.
— The Pe@cock (@WoleOdeleye) November 28, 2017
You can make a law saying "do not invade another man's land". You can equally arm the man to fight incase his lands are attacked
— The Pe@cock (@WoleOdeleye) November 28, 2017
In the current world we live in, knowing the innate and persistent nature of evil, we must always employ a sword and shield approach.
Attack the vice. Defend against the vice.
— The Pe@cock (@WoleOdeleye) November 28, 2017
We simply cannot rely on the goodwill of mankind to do what is right. We will insist that you do what is right. And we will create measures in the event that you choose to do what is wrong
— The Pe@cock (@WoleOdeleye) November 28, 2017
That is how it works.
— The Pe@cock (@WoleOdeleye) November 28, 2017
Fight back
If I were the guy I'd be taking steps to address this legally. In my opinion, this is defamation of character. PS: I am all against rape but I won't shout "rape" with a crooked story; half baked.

Unilag Olodo suits up
The undue hardship I have faced in the past few days is unbearable. False allegations of sexual misconduct is now used as a weapon to destroy lives. pic.twitter.com/2o4tlP3BFN
