Yesterday, Twitter Nigeria was divided over El Rufai’s decision to sack 22,000 Primary School Teachers who had failed the Kaduna state Competency test. Half were in favour of retraining the teachers and the other half adamant that the teachers are completely useless.

Why will you suggest training as a remedy? This is a matter of competency and the student's destiny are at stake here. A teacher that can not pass a primary four test should be given uniform, school bags and probably lunch box. They need to start afresh.

You cannot explain what you don’t understand.
Someone who cannot read&write cannot TEACH a child how to read&write.
If U couldn't answer a question, U shouldn't test/score a CHILD on same.
A TEACHER is expected be a GURU to his/her students.

As for El Rufai, he put his foot down and released some answer scripts for the public to judge.

The only concession the Governor has offered the teachers who failed is a second chance to reapply when the state government conducts fresh tests to recruit new teachers. Mark Essien now touts El Rufai as the solution we need for 2019. And we can’t help but wonder if this is the long game being played.
