[The Church Blog] Again, The Freedom Rally was a huge success

Year in, year out, one of the few events we look forward to during the Independence period is the Freedom Rally. Freedom Rally is an initiative of House of Freedom; a group of faith-based expressions that include This Present House, The WaterBrook, God Bless Nigeria, The Potter’s House, The Green House, Holy Trinity Lagos, Mount Zion and Freedom Foundation under the leadership of Dr. Tony Rapu, Senior Pastor. The core values of The House of Freedom are centered around governance, leadership and impacting the community. This rally was formed as a spearhead to fulfill the vision of House of Freedom, which is to push God’s agenda in Nigeria.

The Freedom Rally would pass as one of the biggest Christian National Rallies owing to its interdenominational nature and the use of the Tafawa Balewa Square which is symbolic to the fact that independence was gained in that same square, so every year we go back to where it all started and push for all that God has in store for Nigeria.

This years’ edition featured some of the regular Freedom Rally faces; Nathaniel Bassey, Waje, Omawunmi, Tosin Martins and Dare Justified. Speakers that headlined the event include, Peter Obi, Obiageli Ezekwesili and Pastor Tony Rapu.

Peter Obi spoke on the need to take responsibility for the state things are in, admit our failures and then commit to moving forward together. Oby Ezekwesili emphasised the role of Children of God in Righteousness and Governance. Pastor Tony Rapu who opened up the event spoke on the need to understand the times and seasons that we live in using an example of the Sons of Issachar.

The theme of hope, assurance of God’s faithfulness and the need for us to walk into fulfillment of our collective destiny as One Nigeria resonated through musical ministrations from Nathaniel Bassey, Waje, Omawunmi, Tosin Martins and Dare Justified.
