Officers of the Nigeria Customs, Minna Area Command have intercepted an Onitsha-bound truck load of 200,000 live ammunition along the Wawa-Babana border.

Area Comptroller, Benjamin Binga disclosed that two suspects, Bukari Dauda(the driver), and Martin Anokwara (owner of the cartridges), were apprehended along with the consignment on their way from Benin Republic at about 3am on Monday.

According to Mr. Anokwara, who admitted ownership of the cartridges, he said it was not meant for robbery, as he supplies hunters and licensed owners of double barrel guns only in Anambra, but the customs authorities have said the suspects would be charged to court on completion of investigation by the command.

Adeyemi Alao, the suspected killer of Miss Khadijat Oluboyo, daughter of former Ondo State Deputy Governor Lasisi Oluboyo, has been arrested by the Ondo Police Command.

Sources said she had died about six days when her body was discovered inside her boyfriend’s room and he had allegedly dug a grave in the room when nemesis caught up with him.

Police spokesperson, Femi Joseph, said the suspect arrested by a team of detectives, has been cooperating with them on relevant information surrounding the circumstances of Khadijat’s death, assuring the public that the case would be thoroughly investigated to establish the facts and all other suspects and others involved in her death, would be prosecuted.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbeh, has on Monday disclosed that Kaduna, Kogi, Benue, Anambra, Bayelsa and five other states will get 10 large integrated rice milling machines at the cost of N10.7 billion by December 2019.

Speaking in Abuja during the pact-signing with MV Agro Engineers, suppliers of the farm equipment, Ogbeh said the benefiting states would indicate interest as off-takers and make 10 per cent down-payment expressing their technical capacity to own and operate the mills expected to produce 100 tonnes of rice per day.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen, has decried the delay in Nigeria’s justice delivery system.

Onnoghen who was speaking on Monday at a training for some newly appointed justices in Abuja, described the situation as unacceptable and emphasised the need for a thorough and comprehensive reform of the justice sector, to ensure access to justice within a reasonable time.
