Simi has just released the video for Jericho, the dancehall earworm off her third studio album Omo Charlie Champagne Vol. 1 released in April, which features collaborations from Falz, Maleek Berry, and husband Adekunle Gold. Simi is known for catchy, candy-coated melodies, and in the video for Jericho in which Patoranking hops on as a feature, we see a lovely amalgamation of Simi’s sugar-rush vocals and Patoranking’s bombastic dancehall chops.
The video is an exercise in bold colours, Simi dancing in a burnt-orange crop top, and backup dancers filling up major scenes with atmosphere. The song has been a crowd-favourite on Omo Charlie Champagne Vol. 1, and the video makes it even more appealing. We have heard several artistes release songs for the summer, but Jericho is right up there on the list.
