The first YouTube awards for content creators in Sub Saharan African is currently holding in South Africa.
The host for the award is South African YouTube Gamer, Grant Hinds.
Nigerian On-Air-Personality Toke Makinwa, who was meant to be the co-host of the award was unable to make it due to flight issues.
Toke made the announcement on her Twitter account, “Due to some traveling issues regarding handling of flights, I hate to announce I will not be hosting the YouTube awards tonight in J’burg.”

Some of the queens of content creation in the country in attendance at the awards include Arit Okpo, Tosin Ajibade of Olori Supergal, Doris Okafor of EL Now and Moments Head Producer, Stephanie Busari, Head of CNN West Africa, and Labisi Adesokan.
Nigerian musician Timaya performed as he thrilled the audience with his movements. Also on stage to perform is Tanzanian artiste Vanessa Mdee who stunned the crowd with her awesome dance skills.
