It’s not how we usually hear about Davido. I don’t remember a time when ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ has ever made comment that can be considered political and hopefully this does not come back to bite him.
Actually, Nigerian musicians rarely touch on this particular subject but then who can blame (this is who by the way) after the pepper we showed Dbanj, Don Jazzy and co for having supported President Jonathan back in 2011.
Anyway, in his latest interview with THISDAY Style, (check out amazing photos by TY Bello here) Davido admonished that Nigerians need to support the President while he works hard to make Nigeria great again.
“I believe the country is going through a lot of reforms at the moment. I certainly don’t believe that two years is enough time to fix Nigeria considering all we have being through. All President Buhari needs is a lot of time, dedication and most importantly, support from the people and God willing he will succeed in making Nigeria great again.”
He’s probably the only person from our side that has encouraging words for Mr. President right now. But then the interview was granted before we got the President’s view on his wife’s role.
