Nigerians have described as insensitivity a press release written by the Senior Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu ‘congratulating’ the governor over his escape at the church building collapse in Uyo yesterday.

Akwa Ibom State governor, Emmanuel Udom had escaped the collapse which killed over 50 worshippers of the Reigners Bible Church.

In the first paragraph of the statement, Shehu stated that the President ‘congratulated the Governor and his family on their lucky escape from the tragic collapse of the building of the Reigners Bible Church, Uyo.”

That part of the statement has sparked outraged as Nigerians keep wondering why the President would send a congratulatory message to the governor even as ordinary masses were left dead in the tragic incident.
