The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Abdulsalam Motor Parks, Minna, Niger, has called for the setting up of mobile courts to prosecute “black marketers’’.
- The Union’s Vice Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Na’ura, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Minna.
What we think: The NURTW has made the right move, going against sale of petrol through the “back door”. Unlike where they prefer to encourage the black marketers by buying from them.
We now hope that the branches in other states join this movement and not take it upon themselves to punish Nigerians for the fuel scarcity – regular commuters will undersrand this.
