Yesterday, the convoy of the Governor of Borno State, Zulum, was attacked by Boko Haram; a few hours ago, multiple blasts in Maiduguri leaves many dead. Obviously, the chicken has come back to the nest. What we're looking for in Sambisa is back in Maiduguri. God save Nigeria.

Over the years, members of the Boko Haram terrorist group have carried out similar actions in the state, killing hundreds of people in the process. On Twitter, however, news of the explosion is the main subject of discourse today as many call on the government to do all that is necessary to protect the lives of Nigerians who live in the state.

The explosions once brings to the fore once again, the argument on the need for the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to relieve the Service Chiefs of their appointment and undertake an urgent overhaul of the security architecture, especially as it relates to the fight against insurgency and banditry. Most importantly also, with heightened attacks and killings witnessed in Southern Kaduna in recent times as well as in other parts of the North, the security agencies would need to step up their strategies to ensure that Nigerians celebrate the Id el Kabir celebrations in peace.
