A 17-year-old mother is in hot water after allegedly letting her son climb into a clothing dryer before turning it on.
Jasmine Brown, from Gates, N.Y., was arrested Saturday after leaving her 2-year-old child in the running machine for about 30 seconds until another person took him out, WHEC-TV reported. The child was not hurt.
Police were called to St. Joseph’s Villa, a Rochester-area group home with a program for young mothers, where the laundry facility was, according to The Associated Press. It is unclear who notified authorities of the incident. An ambulance crew determined that the boy did not have to go to a hospital.
WSYR-TV reported that Child Protective Services were contacted.
Authorities slapped the young mother with multiple endangerment charges.
Brown pleaded not guilty at her arraignment on Tuesday. She was taken to a county jail with bail set at $50,000.
