The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has said there’s nothing demonic about ancient traditional religion.
In a recent interview with the Osasu show, the Ooni said he has been able to discover that all religions “are one.”
Oba Ogunwusi added that there is only one God being worshipped in different ways.
He said he is a traditionalist, born into a Christian family and a practicing Muslim as well.
He said, “I’m not a Christian alone, I can be called a Muslim too. I practice all the religion very well.
” I go to the mosque to pray, I attend church services. Yes I am a traditionalist as well.”
He added, “I have been able to see the light that there’s nothing demonic about our ancient religion.”
Recall that the Ooni had once stated that Jesus was his father, a statement that led to criticism by some Nigerians.

Please someone should remind HRM that the Islam being practiced in parts of the South West isn’t the same Islam Northern Nigerian Muslims are practicing. I remember, as a young man growing up in Lagos, Ibadan and Abeokuta, we didn’t see any difference between Islam and Christianity. Today we would enter one church and on a Friday enter a mosque. We ate together, partied together, had partners different from our religion. We didn’t care. But certainly not so in the North. The agenda of Islam as practiced in the South West isn’t that of conquest but the Islam of the Hausa/Fulani is that of conquest. As far as they are concerned, so long as they have the military in firm their control they could turn the rest of us to Muslims whether we in the South like it or not, pretending to forget that we in South realise that, aside from our superior education and our strong desire to continue to expand our mental abilities, we are also aware that we are more populated than the entire North by a mile. In order to achieve their unbridled ambition to Islamise we in the South, they have stationed all over the South their well-armed #Herdsmen who have been on a killing spree while the Nigerian Police and the military stand aside and look as if Christians and other non-Islamics are not Nigerians they swore under Oath to protect. So, someone should tell HRM that the way he practices Islam isn’t the same way the Sultan, for example, practices Islam.

However, the correction is that, you cannot serve both God and Mammon. So, such a pluralistic spirituality is simply odd.
