The last time she was in the news was when she revealed she had been a victim of domestic violence at the hands of her now ex-husband, Bishop Thomas Weeks III, Dr. Juanita Bynum is out with another shocking revelation.
While answering question on V-103’s “Frank and Wanda in the morning” show, the preacher admitted to have been with all kinds of men, sleeping with women, doing drugs, and having a wild life generally.
Many had expected Bynum, the author of the best-selling sermon and book “No More Sheets: The Truth About Sex”, to give an interview worth remembering but this was surprising considering that many look up to her on issues of sexual purity and spiritual uprightness.
Bynum said: “I’ve been there and I’ve done it all. I did the drugs, I’ve been with men, I’ve been with women. All of it.”
To clear all doubts, she confirmed her words saying, “It’s not a line, it’s my life!”
The prophetess, singer, actor, pastor, and author, however, explained that she makes these confessions to take responsibility for her choices.
“I took full responsibility in every area because every choice that I made, nobody put a gun to my head,” she said.
“These were my choices and I made these choices due to a lack of wisdom”.
Bynum’s revelation underscores the belief that no one is perfect; never mind the surprise it might have generated among her followers.
Anyone who has read her books, particularly 'No More Sheets' or saw the video where she preached the message at Bishop T.D Jakes' church will not find anything of these 'news'. Her past sexual life and her freedom and salvation through Christ from her past are the bulwark of her testimony and her message.
Sure she did all those things before and now she has been forgiven and redeeemed by here master and saviour. If her Lord forgives her, who are we to judge her?
Do you not know that sinful men will have no place in the holy nation of God? Do not be fooled. A person who does sex sins, or who worships false gods, or who is not faithful in marriage, or men who act like women, or people who do sex sins with their own sex, will have no place in the holy nation of God. 10 Also those who steal, or those who always want to get more of everything, or who get drunk, or who say bad things about others, or take things that are not theirs, will have no place in the holy nation of God. 11 Some of you were like that. But now your sins are washed away. You were set apart for God-like living to do His work. You were made right with God through our Lord Jesus Christ by the Spirit of our God. 1 Cor 6!
