Dan-Ali takes top spot, Dalung makes an appearance | YNaija Effectiveness Ranking for Ministers

Information Minister, Lai Mohammed seems to have perfected the art of spinning the narrative to fit his thinking or assumptions.

Mohammed, a former spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is yet to remove the garb of a propagandist he adorned while he was the mouthpiece of the then opposition party.

In the week under review, Mohammed while speaking at the 25th anniversary of the National Broadcasting Commission reeled out the achievements of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration. Inasmuch as Mohammed is doing his duty to his boss, as the Minister, he owes a duty to address and treat all Nigerians with respect. During the event, while addressing those he termed “purveyors of hate speech and fake news” Mohammed no hatred could obliterate the president’s “solid achievements”. Mohammed needs to understand that Nigerians do not hate the president, neither are the citizens his subjects, and he ought not to address them like he’s a Roman emperor.

In what could be termed a cameo, Minister for Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung gets a mention in the YNaija Effectiveness Ranking for Ministers. Dalung features this week all due to the heroics of the D’Tigress, Nigeria’s female basketball team who went unbeaten, winning all eight games on the road to becoming African Champions.

Topping the ranking this week, is Defence Minister, Mansur Dan-Ali. The minister, who heads the ministry saddled with the responsibility of securing the nation has done credibly well. In the week under review, the Nigerian Army killed five top Boko Haram commanders in the continued war against the terrorist group.
