The Midnight crew are not newcomers at The Experience.
Year in, year out, they have shown us what it means to stay consistent and relevant. We didn’t expect anything less from their performance this year, but again, they have beat us to it. From slow to fast, their seamless transition from one song to the other just got us deep into the flow. For musicians, there lies a possibility of losing a certain level of connection especially when they all have individual musical careers. The beauty of their mix of several genres of music in just one performance continually endears us to them.
Just a few weeks ago, they clocked 16 and we celebrated their growth into as a force to reckon with in the Nigerian Gospel scene. Not forgetting that they are standing as one of the favourite long-standing music groups.
And to think that the group also contemplated going separate ways but after a meeting, they decided to remain committed to the group vision.
If there’s one thing we have learnt from Midnight crew thus far, its the possibility of cultural relevance that transcends generations.
