1. Comments on the agitations and hate speeches.

The “Kaduna Declaration” has raised so much dust from several quarters.

The governor of Katsina state, Aminu Masari has said the agitation is a mere exercise of the freedom of expression of the concerned parties.

While popular lawyer, Femi Falana, said the voice behind the declaration is a ‘Lagos Boy’ and so, his desire cannot work.

Also, the General Overseer of the Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke-Afa, Lagos, Primate Elijah Ayodele Babatunde said the “quit notice handed out to our Igbo brothers and sisters in the north is a strong indication that Nigeria is nearing a breaking point“.

2. Osinbajo consults with stakeholders on the quit notice to Igbos.

He met Igbo traditional rulers, then Northern traditional rulers, the 36 states governors, and later in the week, he met with media publishers and editors.

3. Osinbajo warns those promoting disunity

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo said those promoting hate speeches are violating the constitution and therefore, risk jail terms.

In reply, the pro-Biafra group, IPOB, faulted Osinbajo’s comments, asking him to consult senior lawyers.

4. Amaechi vs Wike

The exchange of words between the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, who is a former governor of Rivers and the present governor, Nyesom Wike, might not end soon, as the elephants continued to ‘disturb’ the grass this week.

Wike accused Amaechi’s wife of receiving millions of naira from ex-LG men and commissioners, of which the Minister asked him to ‘shut up’ as he doesn’t speak good English.

They have since denied such financial activity in the State.

5. Etisalat vs a consortium of banks

Access Bank PLC and other Nigerian and foreign banks reportedly took over the management of Etisalat Nigeria over non-payment of loans.

The Telco company has since denied the take over, asking for calm and the banks said they want their money not the banks.

In a statement, Etisalat said it had paid about 42% of the loans.

6. Dino Melaye’s recall

Although, the Senator claims dead people were among those that signed the petition to recall him, about 52.3 percent of registered voters, representing 188, 588 persons in Kogi West senatorial district have reportedly approved the recall of Dino Melaye from the senate.

INEC has also written the Senator saying his recall process will begin July 3.

But the senator on Friday replied INEC with a law suit.

7. Saraki, FG and the CCT

The Code of Conduct Tribunal had earlier discharged Senate President Bukola Saraki saying the case against him could not be pinned on him, but the FG disagrees with that ruling and have appealed.

The Senate President has replied, saying there were only wasting their time.

8. No referendum, no election – Nnamdi Kanu warns

Leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has warned on Wednesday that his members and other eligible voters in Anambra State would boycott the 2019 general elections if a referendum is not held.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has said there’s nothing demonic about ancient traditional religion.

10. Saudi king replaces crown Prince

King Salman of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday appointed his 31-year-old son, Mohammed bin Salman as crown Prince, replacing Prince Mohammed bin Nayef.
