President Trump is asking the CEOs of the world’s largest tech companies for help in modernizing the American government system. Huge names like Many executives, like Apple, Google, and Amazon, are on board while Facebook did not even show up.

Leaders in the tech space arrived at the White House, Monday, marking the beginning of a week-long talks about the state of the American government infrastructure and how tech policies such as cyber security, talent recruitment, and government affected them.

Mashable reports that the entire meeting with President Trump seemed to be for show with leaders bringing up issues that pertained to their operations and the President responding without any assurances that there will be change.

During the event, Trump said, “Today many of our agencies rely on painfully outdated technology, and yet, we have the greatest people in technology”.

When the Trump administration pulled out of the Paris climate accord, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg blamed Trump for the decision in a post on Facebook, the withdrawal also caused Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, to drop out of the government’s business advisory council.

There was no one on the Facebook team present at the event despite receiving an invite.

Other who were in attendance were Ajay Banga, CEO of MasterCard; Zachary Bookman, CEO of OpenGov; Safra Catz, Co-Chief Executive of Oracle; John Doerr, Chairman of Kleiner Perkins; Pat Gelsinger, CEO of VMware; Alex Karp, CEO of Intel; Tom Leighton, CEO of Akamai; Bill McDermott, CEO of SAP; Steven Mollenkopf, CEO of Qualcomm; Shantanu Narayen, CEO of Adobe; Ginni Rometty, CEO of IBM; Julie Sweet, CEO of Accenture; and Peter Thiel of the Founders Fund who has served as an advisor to the president.
