Chigozie Obioma: Chigozie is an award-winning Nigerian writer whose first novel, The Fishermen, was a finalist for the Man Booker prize and won several prizes including an NAACP Image Award, an LA Art Seidenbaum award, among others and was translated into 26 languages. His second novel, An Orchestra of Minorities was published in January 2019 which talked about pre-colonial culture in Nigeria. Obioma described this book as a work of ‘cultural preservation’ 

Emmanuel Iduma: Emmanuel Iduma is a Nigerian fiction writer popularly known for his travel book, A Stranger’s Pose, and his novel The Sound of Things to Come. A Stranger’s Pose was listed for the Ondaatje Prize in 2019. In 2020, Iduma also received the inaugural Irving Sandler Award for New Voices in Art Criticism from Association Internationale des Critiques d’Art’s, USA chapter. 

Ukamaka Olisakwe: Ukamaka Olisakwe is a Nigerian novelist, short story writer and screenwriter and feminist writer. In 2014, Olisakwe was selected as one of sub-Saharan Africa’s most promising writers under the age of 40. She was born in Kano, and in 2016, was a resident at the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program. 

Oyinkan Braithwaite: Braithwaite is a Nigerian-British novelist and writer. She is a graduate of Creative Writing and Law from Kingston University. Oyinkan is popularly known for her debut novel, ‘My Sister, the Serial Killer,’ which won the 2019 LA Times Award for Best Crime Thriller, the 2019 Morning News Tournament of Books, the 2019 Amazon Publishing Reader’s Award for Best Debut Novel, the 2019 Anthony Award for Best First Novel. 

Tomi Adeyemi: Tomi Adeyemi is a Bestselling Nigerian-American novelist and creative writing coach. Adeyemi is wildly known for her number one New York Times bestselling book Children of Blood and Bone, the first in the Legacy of Orïsha trilogy. Tomi made the 2019 Forbes 30 under 30 list and TIME 100 Most Influential People of 2020. 

Abi Dare: Abi Daré is a Nigerian author. Her debut novel The Girl with the Louding Voice was published in 2020 and bagged the NYT bestsellers plus other achievements. Growing up in Lagos, Nigeria, and the UK, Abi’s story is a touch of her experience from both cultures as she fuses them to tell her stories. 

Akwaeke Emezi: Emezi is a writer whose art practice has been described as located in the metaphysics of Black spirit. Their sophomore adult novel THE DEATH OF VIVEK OJI was an instant New York Times Bestseller, an Indie Bestseller, and an Indie Next selection, receiving rave reviews from The New York Times, USA Today, NPR, The LA Times, and The Washington Post. 

Ayobami Adebayo: Ayobami is a writer and author whose work has been featured across several platforms. Her novel, Stay with Me was longlisted for the International Dylan Thomas Prize. Stay with Me was also named a Notable Book of the Year by The New York Times and a Best Book of the Year by The Guardian, The Economist, The Wall Street Journal. 

Otukhe Ominiabohs: Othuke is a writer, poet and dramatist. Otukhe fuses a lot of his experience with his writing and has chiefly been influenced by the land of his birth. Odufa’s debut novel, A Lover’s Tale was shortlisted for the Association of Nigerian Author’s Prize for Prose Fiction and the Grand Prix of Literary Associations in Cameroun. He is the author of the acclaimed novel, A Conspiracy of Ravens. 

TJ Benson: TJ Benson is a Nigerian writer whose work has appeared in several online journals and print magazines. Benson was the first runner up for the 2016 Short Story Day Africa Prize themed ‘Migration’ and a two-time writer-in-residence at the Ebedi Writers Residency Nigeria. 

Bolu Babalola: Bolu is a London-based Nigerian writer, and has described herself as a lover of love. In 2016, she was shortlisted in 4thEstate’s B4ME competition for her short story ‘Netflix & Chill‘, a hilarious teen romance. Whilst writing scripts for BBC comedy, she also works as a pop culture writer and commenter, where she calls herself a ‘romcomoisseur’. Her 2020 debut book, Love in Colour: Mythical Tales from Around the World, Retold, explores stories about love found the strangest places and situations across the world.
