5. Olamide vs The Headies vs. Don Jazzy

The year in beefs started with a bang at the 2015 Headies held on New Year’s Day when rapper Olamide interrupted proceedings to express his displeasure at the apparent snub of his protégé Lil Kesh for the Next Rated trophy. Don Jazzy whose artiste Reekado Banks won at Lil Kesh’s expense took it as a personal affront and called egbon Olamide out on stage. Olamide then went on a Twitter melt down where he purged his mind and declared himself King of the streets. Oh! and he advised we leave trash for LAWMA.

4. Muhammadu Buhari vs Bukola Saraki

If the press releases from their various aides were all you had to work with, you would never tell that there is tension between President Muhammadu Buhari and the Senate President. But it’s 2016 and body language is all the rage. Buhari promised not to interfere in the legislative process but he certainly did not support Saraki’s emergence as SP. The presidency promptly came after Saraki through the Code of Conduct Bureau tribunal and with criminal investigation charges for forging Senate Standing order. Both went nowhere.

3. Tiwa Savage vs Tunde ‘Tee Billz’ Balogun

The fairy tale wedding of songstress Tiwa Savage and her hubby Tee Billz effectively ended after Mr Balogun took to Instagram to accuse his estranged wife of infidelity before staging a suicide attempt. Savage went on a ruthless offensive, sitting down with journalist Azuka Ogujiuba of This Day and letting out every scandalous detail. From accusations of infidelity and theft, irresponsibility and blackmail, Savage spared no detail. And it wasn’t pretty.

2. Abdulmumuni Jibrin vs Yakubu Dogara and friends

These two used to be thick as thieves, until shit the fan. Dogara relieved the Kano state lawmaker of his juicy Appropriation Committee leadership accusing him of misappropriation and high handedness but Jibrin refused to go down easy, clawing his way back and countering with the whole budget padding scandal that engulfed not only Dogara, but his principal officers too, as well as the executive branch.

1. The Tinubus vs Dino Melaye

While carrying out his lifelong responsibility of supporting the Senate President, Dino Melaye clashed with his colleague Oluremi Tinubu representing Lagos Central. Melaye claimed Senator Tinubu fired the first shot when she called him a thug that must be tamed and he was widely reported as going on a threatening spree where he promised to beat her up and impregnate her. Melaye denies this. But in petty goals, he did take the next flight to Lagos where he made a show of walking the streets of Bourdillon, home to the Tinubus, unchallenged.
