Y! Scoop: What you probably didn’t know about the Olamide/Don Jazzy Headies fight

The Olamide and Don Jazzy Headies fiasco will forever go down as one of the most unforgettable and controversial moments in Nigeria’s award ceremony history.

Between the stage dramas and the Twitter banters- it was a very interesting one to witness while it lasted.

Although the two parties are back on good terms, one can hardly forget the memorable catchphrase- Back to Back, everything was a hit- which is still being used till date on social media.

However, there is one hashtag that generated so much buzz that it was even acknowledged by the government agency that was name-dropped.

The hashtag- #LeaveTrashForLawma- which Olamide tweeted while bashing Don Jazzy, was the biggest souvenir from the short-lived fight.

Contrary to popular belief that Olamide originally came up with the hashtag, the grapevine and a few sources infer that the YBNL General was inspired to come up with #LeaveTrashForLawma.

On the day of the Headies Awards, a Cypher was released online.

The Cypher, which was produced by fast rising producer – Killertunez, featured emerging rappers such as ‘Ola Dips, Pele Pele, Yung Tizzy, Seax Penz & High Bee‘.

YNaija learned that the Cypher was recorded at the aforementioned producer’s studio which Olamide usually frequents and a reliable source confirmed to us that the rapper heard the recording at some point.

In the Cypher, indigenous act, Seax Penz who is currently an undergraduate at the University of Lagos dropped a punchline on his verse, making reference to the waste management government agency.

He said: “E mi oraye Trash emi o kin se LAWMA (I don’t have time for trash, I am not LAWMA.”

Listen to the Cypher and tell us what you think.
