Will Simi’s #DudukeChallenge be ending anytime soon? Here’s why it’s right on time

Simi Duduke

With the awareness of social distancing and the restriction on social gatherings to contain the spread of the coronavirus, the need for fun and activities that encourages the same will always be on the demand as human beings are regarded as very social creatures.

While social media has made it easier to find fun in all the right places (and wrong places), some of these things on social media can become very complicated for a few people. There have been several challenges that have sprung up on social media and a lot of these challenges appear quite interesting and serve as a quick getaway to kill the boredom of staying indoors.

Similarly, although many agree that these challenges bring out the best creativity in people, others just don’t see it that way. Well, that’s not what we are here for.

Among the many challenges out there, Nigerian singer, Simi, has used the visuals for her latest single, Duduke to create a new challenge and there has never been a time for pregnant women to get on a challenge as now!

The Duduke challenge is simple, women (or men, who just want to be funny) make videos of themselves dancing to the songs as they lip-sync to it and show off their baby bumps. Really, the challenge not only encourages women to get social and proud of their new shape due to pregnancy but also speaks of love and the idea of a healthy and lovely home.

While many people have jumped on the challenge, Simi has also shared some videos of women dancing and ‘vibing’ on the Duduke challenge, some Twitter users have also tagged some women they know to jump on the Duduke challenge.

One thing that makes this challenge so right on time is that, it among many things improves bonding in these times of ‘partial lockdown’ where most families are home and there’s so much of negative news in the airwaves

The reasons why this challenge is coming at this point, and what makes it so special is that it appreciates the beauty of life: Life given, and life created. The challenge also gives hope to homes where there may be one struggle or another as the lyrics of the song expresses love and happiness in the home.

With the social distancing and restriction on social gatherings, this could just be one among many other social media challenges that keep families close, reunite troubled homes and most definitely keep pregnant women fit as it requires some energy input to run the challenge.

Many Twitter users, well-wishers and fans of the singer have also appreciated her for this gift as they wish her a safe delivery
