Nigeria continues to climb in the FIFA rankings and now sits in the 33rd position, after the latest standings were released on Thursday.
The African champions, who were previously ranked 34th after the 2014 World Cup, are still 3rd on the continent with 673 points, only behind Ivory Coast and Algeria.
Algeria is the highest-ranked team in Africa in 24th position, while Ivory Coast occupies the 25th position.
Germany continues to lead the way in the overall ranking, with Argentina, Holland, Colombia and Belgium, completing the top five spots with the World champions.
