More and more allegations appear to be piling up against the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akapbio.
Earlier accused of being at the centre of many discrepancies and corruption that goes on in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). This accusation came from the immediate past acting Managing Director of the commission, Dr. Joi Nunieh after the Senate adhoc committee commenced a probe of alleged financial recklessness and misappropriation of N40 billion by the NDDC Interim Management Committee (IMC), between October 2019 and May 2020.
The former Akwa Ibom governor is again trending and this is coming off after another interview with activist, Kolawole Johnson shared how corruption thrived under Akpabio’s nose.
The other day, former MD Joy Nunieh exposed Akpabio.
Today, Kolawole Johnson on #SundayPolitics came smoking with the (forensic audit report) on how Akpabio & Cairo Ojougboh IMC looted over N80bn, including monies meant for NDDC Scholars.

Akpabio had earlier reacted to Joi’s allegation against him by attacking her character and this fresh interview with Kolawole is opening up the conversation as it concerns the minister and his activities in the NDDC. Many are also calling for justice to take its full course.
This is not the time to talk about resource control and blame other tribes. This is the time to call on agencies of the Federal Government in charge of anti-corruption to thoroughly investigate the very serious allegations against the NDDC & Akpabio. The Buhari led FG should act!

NDDC and the cross battle of our suppose leaders. The question of who is really the enemy of the south south people. #Joi/Akpabio………. The balance and is very messy.

APC should stop telling us how PDP nearly finsished us with corruption, everybody knows that. But do something different. Uzor kalu was part of same PDP, Akpabio was..they only changed their outlook, they are still the same people who did us dirty in the past..

While the former governor is yet to address these issues directly, a few Nigerians have expressed grave concerns as a few have shared that the NDDC as a Commission should be scrapped since they have failed on many occasions.
If Nigerian Politicians sit and direct money to develope your region.
It will become a feudalist tool used to reward loyalists with contracts for your region
The region suffers, no development is achieved and a bunch of crooks get rich
Akpabio cannot see money without touching

One other thing that got Nigerians talking about the Minister is a fresh report on Dr. Nunieh who expressed that she had slapped Akpabio for sexually harassing her in the past.
I slapped @Senator_Akpabio for sexually harassing me, says ex-NDDC MD https://t.co/ofkx8bOpY8 via @thecableng

According to Joi, in an interview with Arise News, the incident happened at the Minister’s guest house in Abuja adding that her reaction to the alleged harassment proved her intolerance for “nonsense” as a woman from Rivers state.
Speaking, Joi said: “I slapped him. He tried to come on me. I am an Ogoni woman and nobody jokes with us. I showed Akpabio that Rivers women do not tolerate nonsense.” Reacting to this, many Nigerians also took to Twitter to applaud Joi on her bravery against the Akapabio.
Brother think twice ooo, Hanty Joi just throw a bad hook dis morning below @Senator_Akpabio belt… Ur children should not learn dis part ooo.. No allow dem hear am cos its not good for ur uncommon gov b4 b4. Tankio!!

Joi Ninueh has accused Akpabio of trying to become her 5th husband. Has Akpabio met his match?#Akpabio #NDDC #NDDCProbe

While many Nigerians are clamouring for justice to be served on the actors involved in the drama as it concerns the NDDC, many are also saying that proper investigations should be carried out before throwing stones at anyone.
I love to see how Akpabio is bringing out all the sterling qualities of the Bubu led administration.
I remember when he was appointed, some APC stalwarts were asking whether its us they should have nominated as minister, say it's not a big deal, he worked for the party.TUEH

Akpabio is barely a year old as a supervisory minister for NDDC, I doubt if there’s much that’ll have to do with him. I see a deliberate campaign to scuttle the effort to unveil the real masquerade in the NDDC.

Though I ain't no fan of Akpabio, I won't give in to sentimental media trial. Dr Nunieh's allegations are rising faster than daily figures of COVID19. INVESTIGATE!

Corruption is a matter of concern for every Nigerian and social media is slowly bringing to light these atrocities, many are calling for the full wrath of the law to be served on parties involved accordingly.
