Widespread reports suggest that the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi (Muhammadu Sanusi II) is set to marry a 17-year-old.
The Emir, who already has three wives, is reportedly preparing to wed as his fourth wife, the teenage daughter of the Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa.
We also heard that the prospective union between the Adamawa princess and the former Central Bank president, may be to deepen the royal bond between Adamawa and Kano states.
According to the Islamic law, a man is allowed a maximum of four wives, provided he can take care of them, and treat all of them equally.
