V.P Pence takes Trump’s side in attacks against Attorney General Sessions

Vice President  Mike Pence has praised President Trump’s boldness in expressing his disappointment in Attorney General Jeff Sessions over the past few days.

Speaking to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, Pence said; “I know the Washington way is to talk behind people’s backs. But that’s not President Donald Trump’s approach, one of the great things about this president is you always know where you stand … I think one of the president’s virtues is his candor”.

According to Fox, Pence said that the President was disappointed with Sessions’recusal and he was being sincere in the expression of his feelings. He added that Trump’s frustration “doesn’t mean that we don’t recognize the good work the Justice Department has been doing under the attorney general’s leadership”.

Pence also used Trump’s words in response when asked about Sessions’ future in the administration, saying only “we’ll see what happens in the future”, but Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee Chuck Grassley wrote on Twitter that the committee was not considering replacing Sessions this year.
