It is believed that the government of the United States is sending arms to the Nigerian military, to prosecute the war against Boko Haram.
Punch Newspapers got wind of this, via a report Radio France Internationale.
According to the report, the records of the US Defence Security Cooperation Agency shows that the Department of Defence is set to transfer military material to Nigeria.
The RFI stated that the US Army was about to transfer Caiman trucks, armoured vehicles designed “to defeat current and emerging threats.”
The US government is also sending armoured vehicles known as MaxxPro MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected), made by Navistar Defence, according to the RFI.
Furthermore, the report said that the US government had confirmed that the deliveries were pending.
