Unlike Oshiomhole, Obaseki will not appoint any opposition member into his cabinet

Governor-elect of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki says no member of any opposition political party will make it into his cabinet.

Obaseki who was declared winner of the September 28 governorship election said this during an interactive session with journalists.

Obaseki said, “I will not be able to accept anybody from the opposition political parties as a commissioner in my cabinet.”

Obaseki’s decision is a slight deviation from the one taken by incumbent governor, Adams Oshiomhole in 2008, who appointed three members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into his cabinet.

He said he would hit the ground running by setting up a team to immediately begin preparation of the 2017 appropriation bill.
