UNIMAID staff: Osinbajo meets service chiefs, DSS boss

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Saturday held a meeting with  Service Chiefs, the Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris and the Director General of Department of State Services, DSS.

Also present at the meeting was the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and publicity, Laolu Akande revealed this in a series of tweets on Sunday.

He said the meeting was to review progress made on rescue efforts on staff of the University of Maiduguri and NNPC who were kidnapped during an ambush by Boko Haram insurgents.

He wrote, “In continuation of his close monitoring of Borno situation, AgP Osinbajo met again last night with service chiefs, IGP, DSS, Petroleum Minister of State & co. Meeting reviewed progress on release & rescue (efforts) of abducted officials of UNIMAID & missing NNPC staff.

“AgP Osinbajo had earlier met Defence Minister and military service chiefs couple days back in his office on Thursday on the situation.”
