U.S. Presidency: 70 Nobel Laureates endorse Hillary Clinton

Things just got better for the Democratic Candidate in the U.S. presidential election, Senator Hillary Clinton as she has been endorsed by 70 Nobel Laureates, according to the New York Times.

Clinton who is battling with businessman Donald Trump of the Republican party for a seat at the Oval Office was endorsed on Tuesday.

In a letter signed by the 70 Nobel Laureates they said Clinton is the candidate who understands the value of investing in science and technology at a time when the world faces challenges on several fronts.

“We need a president who will support and advance policies that will enable science and technology to flourish in our country and to provide the basis of important policy decisions,” they wrote.

Some of the Nobel winners included the chemist Peter Agre, the economist Robert J. Shiller and the physicist Robert Woodrow Wilson.

In their endorsement of Clinton, the group of luminaries made clear that the stakes of the election are especially high.

“The coming presidential election will have profound consequences for the future of our country and the world,” they wrote.
