From the moment televised sports became a thing, boxing has held as much excitement and anticipation as any other sports has. Because of its nature which is literally fighting, people attach a lot of emotions and sometimes investments into big name matches, and we put our hopes on a fighter to come out victorious, feeling as though we won, if they win. But alas we haven’t felt this sort of spectacle for quite some time now.
If you ask any combat sport’s enthusiast what their favorite moment in boxing history is, they will most likely refer to a time where names like Sugar Ray Leonard, Mohammed Ali, and Mike Tyson where the dominant force of the sports. Boxing moments like The Fight of The Century, where Ali defeated Joe Frazier in a fifteen round match or Rumble in the Jungle where the world held its breath as Ali took down the unstoppable force in the heavyweight division: George Foreman, don’t happen like they used to. A time where the best fought the best to find out who the undisputed king of the ring is.
These days they don’t make matches like this as promoters and agents are very cautious of the type of matches they accept. Such has been the case for the UK-based Nigerian World Heavyweight Champion: Anthony Joshua. While Joshua has had some pretty good matches throughout his career, it would seem that his promoter, Eddie Hearn has not been to keen in setting up the matches everyone wants to see, especially the Joshua Vs Wilder fight people yearned for a few years. This would have no doubt being the biggest match of the decade.

But goodnews for boxing fans all over the world as an even better match has been setup. Earlier today, it was announced that Anthony Joshua who holds the WBO, IBF, WBO and IBO belts and Tyson Fury who is the WBC Champion have agreed to a two-fight deal, and while talks about the match are still going on, we certainly hope this fight is a fight to unify the championships and have one person crowned champion.

For some years now, Fury, Joshua and Wilder have been touted as the three best fighters in the heavyweight division, but after Wilder suffered a surprising loss to Fury back in February, the debate shrunk down to Fury and Joshua, but with this fights, the boxing world’s question would be answered.
