Trump’s “wall of Jericho” to require vast amounts of private land

The order for the immediate construction of a Mexico border wall have been issued and the specification outlined: 30 feet high and “aesthetically pleasing.”

Now, it seems the next thing on President Trump’s list for building his “big, beautiful wall” is to hire more lawyers for a torturous and expensive battle over private land.
The wall will cost the US more politically and economically than the President has publicly acknowledged. In order to fulfill one of his key campaign promises he will need to enforce the power of government to forcibly take over private properties including of course, those belonging to his supporters.
The Mexican border , especially in Texas, passes through farms, ranches, golf courses , and other private property dating back centuries. Tony Martinez, an attorney who is mayor of the border town of Brownsville, Tex has said “It’s going to be time consuming and costly,” “From a political perspective, you have a lot of rich landowners who were his supporters.”
