Trump’s son-in-law Kushner to travel to Middle East for peace talks

White House senior adviser and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner will travel to Israel and Ramallah later this week.

Kushner is slated to arrive in Israel Wednesday, he will first meet with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem and then to Ramallah to meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abba. According to reports, Trump has made it clear that working towards achieving a lasting peace agreement between the Israelis and Palestinians is a top priority for him.
The President in this vein has asked some of his most senior trusted advisers push in that direction, including the assistant to the President and Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt and Kushner. Greenblatt who is the administration’s Israeli-Palestinian negotiator will travel to the region on Monday.
Kushner and Greenblatt both accompanied the President on his visit to Jerusalem and Bethlehem to discuss a peace agreement in May. This most recent trip is to build on that trip, to discuss priorities and potential next steps with Netanyahu and Abbas as well as their senior advisers.
