Trump expresses empathy towards Dreamers

Even though he phased out the DACA program and recently rebuffed claims of a deal without border security from Democrats leaders, President Trump appears to have a reserved empathetic feeling towards the recipients of the program.

The President noted the establishment and indoctrination of the Dreamers into the American system and is thus unwilling to deport them, which appears to be an evidence of why he gave a six-month delay for Congress to act after announcing his decision to rescind the program.

Trump wrote in a tweet, “Does anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military? Really!…..”

In a subsequent tweet, the President wrote, “…They have been in our country for many years through no fault of their own – brought in by parents at young age. Plus BIG border security”

The DACA program is an Obama policy instituted in 2012 which seeks to protect about 800,000 beneficiaries who were brought to the US illegally as children from deportation and allows them to apply for work permit.

President Trump announced the winding down of the program through a release from the Justice Department last week and gave Congress six months to work on an alternative.
