How trigger-happy policeman killed motorcyclist in Ondo over N50 bribe (WATCH)

An unidentified trigger-happy policeman killed a commercial motorcyclist on the Benin-Ore expressway over a fifty naira bribe, according to Sahara Reporters.

In the 100-seconds video made available by the online medium, the dead motorcyclist could be seen lying dead on the floor while no policeman could be seen on site.

Reports say that the body of the unidentified motorcyclist has been deposited at a hospital morgue in Ore.

According to a source, the unfortunate event occurred on Sunday morning at a town called Omifun on the Ore expressway.

The source alleged that a bribe-seeking police officer shot and killed the cyclist and immediately fled the scene.

According to him, the officer, “who is attached to the anti-crime patrol unit of the Ondo State Police Command killed the motorcyclist for refusing to give him a bribe of N50.

“The police officer and his other colleagues fled the scene and ran to safety immediately after the Okada man (commercial motorcyclist) was shot dead.”

The incident caused traffic gridlock on the expressway as motorists parked their vehicles to help move the dead motorcyclist from the road.

In the video, some irate sympathisers were seen destroying the parked police vehicle belonging to the policemen while many mourned the young life that was taken away because of greed.

They called for an investigation into the murder.

The Ondo State Police Commissioner, Hilda Ibifuro Harrison, could not be reach to respond to the fatal shooting as her line was switched off for a prolonged time.
