Tragedy: 2 teenagers drown at a Christmas party in Osun

Two teenagers reportedly drowned in the swimming pool of an hotel during a Christmas party, in Osogbo, Osun.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, December 23, when the teenage group from a Christ Apostolic Church in Ile Ife organised a picnic for members as part of activities marking the Christmas celebrations.

The victims are Ayomide Fagbola and Ifeoluwa, who were said to be about 17 years old. According to reports, Ifeoluwa fell into the pool and Ayomide, while trying to rescue his friend also drowned.

It was gathered that members of the group tries hard to rescue the teenagers, but their attempts were futile.

The Pastor of the church and his wife were invited by the police, following the disappearance of the leaders of the group that organized the picnic.

The police spokesperson in the state, Folasade Odoro, DSP, confirmed the incident, appealing the leaders of the group to come out of hiding and assist the police in the investigation of the case.
