Barely five days left to pass out of NYSC camp, 25 corp members got the shocker of their lives as they were dismissed from the camp.

Thirty corp members of Jigawa state orientation camp hoping to pass out of camp in five days were all mournful on Wednesday.

According to the camp director, the corp members were caught in the act of indiscipline and found guilty at the camp court after facing the panel.

APPARENTLY disturbed by President Goodluck Jonathan’s refusal to assent to the 1999 constitution amendment process, the House of Representatives, Wednesday moved to alter its House Rule to pave way to override the president’s veto after presenting a bill twice to him.

In a motion entitled:’Amendment of the standing Orders of the House of Representatives: Order 13 Rule 98′, it was noted that Order 13 provides the procedure for altering the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999.

The motion which was sponsored by Chairman House Committee on Rules and Business,Rep Albert Sam-Tsokwa, PDP Taraba  and 22 others  argued that:

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday in Accra declared that democracy has come to stay in West Africa.

In his valedictory speech at the 47th Ordinary Session of the Economic Community of West African States Authority of Heads of State and Government, Mr. Jonathan also urged regional leaders to support the incoming administration in Nigeria, led by Muhammadu Buhari.

Mr. Jonathan said he felt deeply satisfied that the tree of democracy planted in Nigeria and the sub-region had “taken roots and blossoming”.

The chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Finance and speakership aspirant, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, has said that the acceptance of the lawmakers, and not their purported zonal and state endorsements will determine who emerges winner of the 8th Assembly Speakership election.

Jibrin (Kano/APC), spoke in Abuja yesterday during a chat with some selected journalists while reacting to sharp divisions in the ranks of some state and zonal caucuses over the purported endorsements of some speakership contestants.
