Gender roles are a source of contention for a number of reasons: culture, upbringing, patriarchy, or religious beliefs. One of such touchy gender role issues is who pays the bills in the home- the husband, the wife or both?
@Batarhe put out a poll on his timeline yesterday asking men if their wives should help with family finances. An overwhelming percentage of men responded in the affirmative. When @Batarhe revealed that the reason he conducted the poll was because he knew of a situation where a wife refused to help with the bills, even though she was aware her husband was struggling, this brought on different reactions.
