The Nigerian lawmaker who made budget padding famous, Hon Abdulmumin Jibrin, is appealing to President Buhari to help his matter.
Honourable Jibrin resorted to writing an open letter (and reposting same) via Twitter after efforts to reach the President in other ways failed, but the silence on Twitter is so loud, you have to wonder if the Presidential Media Team has taken up other occupations.
What is Mr Jibrin’s grieviance? He’d like Mr President to call the Speaker of the House of Representatives to order for spreading lies about both of them in Dogara’s new book. He also wants Nigerians to help him get his seat in the house back. Mr Jibrin had been put on suspension for 180 legislative days “which amounts to 540 days considering the House sits three days a week, between Tuesday and Friday”. This brings it to well over a year. Mr Jibrin’s one year suspension anniversary took place in September 2017, but he’s still got a ways to go, hence the outcry.
However, it doesn’t appear the President and his people reckon they’ve got any dog in this fight so they are keeping their lips sealed. Nigerian Twitter is also not invested in Jibrin’s political destiny so no hashtag is trending.
Where will Jibrin go from here – Atiku?

In excerpts of his up coming biography published by Ovation, Dogara in a blatant lie narrated how I met PMB during the budget padding crisis and again later ferried to him by some security agents where he PMB turned us down and warned me never to raise the issue with him again
— Abdulmumin Jibrin (@AbdulAbmJ) December 14, 2017
I have sent a rejoinder to the @thecableng stating clearly such event or meetings NEVER tookplace between me and PMB neither have I met the President or discuss the issue with him since the budget padding crisis started.Find below my full response as published by cable and Ynaija

The publication has caused my person a huge embarrassment and the general public is intrested in knowing if indeed what was published is true.More so that Mr President wrote the forward to the book and by implication giving some validity to such false hood against himself as well
— Abdulmumin Jibrin (@AbdulAbmJ) December 14, 2017
Mr President is known for his integrity and disdain for lies. It will be in the public interest if he respectfully make clarification if indeed such event ever took place. It will be a huge disservice to the country if Speaker Dogara is allowed to get away with such falsehood
— Abdulmumin Jibrin (@AbdulAbmJ) December 14, 2017
After writting 3 letters to Mr President seeking audience without response, i gave up. I did my best and left everything to the anti graft and security agencies. The false allegations in the book has left me with no choice than to speak out as my last resort to clear such lies.

May I respectfully use this opportunity to inform MrPresident we have been denied representation in the House for 15months and request you to appeal to Chief Justice of the federation on our behalf for speedy dispensation of justice in this matter of utmost national importance

Mr President, the people you see me with here are people of my constituency Kiru/Bebeji Kano. They are your people. They have been illegally and unconstitutionally suspended from the House indefinitely having served a 180 days suspension. We have brought our case before you sir. pic.twitter.com/NkyNLAXzJc

Please call @AbdulAbmJ back @YakubDogara the people of Kiru/Bebeji are being denied of their right. Hon Abdulmumin Jibrin needs to get back to the house.#JudiciaryactonjibrinkiruBebeji@MBuhari @NGRPresident

This is not about @AbdulAbmJ
This tyranny by @YakubDogara on Kiru Bebeji federal constituency must be challenged by all law-abiding Nigerians.
It is Kiru/Bebeji today, it can be your fed constituency tomorrow.
Dogara must stop playing God.

It is no longer about @AbdulAbmJ as an individual any longer but it is about denying the entire Kiru/Bebeji constituent their right to be represented in the federal House of Representatives. #JudiciaryActOnJibrinKiruBebeji

Why is the judiciary acting as if it's part of a conspiracy to keep @AbdulAbmJ suspended indefinitely ?
It's been a year and the case stagnant #JudiciaryactonjibrinkiruBebeji— ZahrahMusa PhD (@Zahrahmusa) December 19, 2017
There is something fundamentally wrong with our judiciary. How can a case stay in a High Court for over a year without judgement. I’m referring to the case of Hon. @AbdulAbmJ challenging his suspension from the NASS. The NJC needs to investigate how this case was handled.
