On Thursday, a lady shared her heartwrenching story of her ordeal in the hands of police officers.
In the light of that, the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Akinwunmi Ambode, is determined to toss rapists, paedophiles, husband/wife batterers and every type of sex offender in Lagos state into the deep dark end of the ocean, and if that won’t suffice, the bottomless pit.
Too much? We know. But the Governor did say he will make Lagos uncomfortable for sex offenders.
Dear Governor Ambode, we congratulate you on this timely initiative, and if we may, we will like to request that you take a very hard look at your police officers. Particularly the ones who are in charge of the streets at night.
Word on ‘the street’ is they are doing dangerously naughty things, trying to soil the good thing you have going here.
On no account should police officers be permitted to violate the persons they are sworn to protect and get away with it.
Dear Governor, if you have any difficulty knowing where to start, the story above should help point you in the right direction.
