President Trump has made a mess of things again. Now we know such an announcement probably does not come as a surprise to you, being jaded about anything Trump these days. Bet you’re curious though. What did he do this time? Well, Trump did what people on the other side of the Atlantic will describe as racist- not to mention foolish and anti-American.
But hey, it’s Trump and measuring his words is not his strong suit. Still in the dark? Forgive us. Here’s the story.
Donald Trump has issues with black athletes—two black athletes specifically. One is Stephen Curry, NBA star who plays with the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors won the NBA championship and Trump extended them an invitation to the White House. Curry was not about to honour the invitation so like a petty kindergarten kid, Trump tweeted:
Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team.Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!

You can imagine the backlash he received for that. We are unable to curate all, so here’s a handful:
Trump: "Your invitation is withdrawn."
Steph: "Well that's fine w-"
Riley: "WE AINT NEVER WANT YA DUSTY INVITATION ANYWAY!" pic.twitter.com/MEUshITcPs

U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain't going! So therefore ain't no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!

Burn!
As for the second dude in Trump’s laser sights, that would be Colin Kaepernick, a black NFL player who since last fall kneels, rather than stand for the national anthem. At a rally in Alabama yesterday, Trump said:
“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now, out, he’s fired. He’s fired,'” Trump said. “You know, some owner is going to do that. He’s going to say, ‘That guy that disrespects our flag, he’s fired.’ And that owner, they don’t know it [but] they’ll be the most popular person in this country”.
He followed that up with tweets today:
If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL,or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect….
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 23, 2017
…our Great American Flag (or Country) and should stand for the National Anthem. If not, YOU'RE FIRED. Find something else to do!

Lebron, Tariq Nasheed and other black Americans wasted no time firing back at Trump’s ass:

And I doubt he's man enough to call any of those players a son of a bitch to their face…

Don't allow racists to reframe #TakeAKnee as being a debate about anthem & flag. It's a protest of police brutality & racism… ?

Trump has now attacked Jemele Hill, Colin Kaepernick, & Stephen Curry. All have something in common but I can’t quite put my finger on it.
