Fidel Castro is dead, and the good people of Miami and half of Twitter are overjoyed. Fidel Castro was an icon of the Cuban revolution, who finally succumbed to the cold hands of death at a ripe age of 90.In 2002, Castro said “I have never been afraid of death,I have never been concerned about death.”
Perhaps the reason for the celebration of his death is tied to his iron grip on power for 47 years, after he had promised Cuba democratic governance. “Fidel Castro ruled Cuba as a one-party state for almost 50 years before Raul, his brother, took over in 2008”, CNN reports.
