#TheVoiceNigeria: We managed to scrape these five okay performances from the quarterfinals

On Sunday night, we watched The Voice Nigeria contestants battle for a place on the semifinals of the competition while we said goodbye to a number of others who were unable to garner enough votes from the audience.

Four contestants, including those who had just been saved, from the four teams performed and as much as a higher number of them got the live audience cheering and the coaches in awe, we still think most of them were so below average it was almost hilarious.

The basis of these subpar performances is the song choices, we think. We can’t forget how ridiculous J’Dess (who we think is one of the most talented on the show) sounded when she performed Lil Kesh’s ‘Is it because I love you’ two Sundays ago.

As we move on in the show, we can already tell who the ‘most likely to succeed’ contestants are. They are the same ones who managed to do us proud last Sunday. Watch:

Team Yemi’s Syemca performed Robyn’s 2010 hit, Dancing on My Own. It was so good it earned him Yemi Alade’s save leaving the rest to grapple for votes.

Watching Jahtell every Sunday is such a blessing and if it was left to some of us, we would have ended the show right after her performance that night.

We all know pulling off a Rihanna successfully can be quite tricky and yes, J’Dess nearly nailed it.

Timi was right! Ain’t nobody badder than Bada…he steady gives superb performances and last Sunday was not an exception.

Precious could have done way better with another song. He’s held us spellbound before and although this performance didn’t quite hit it, it was way better than most others from that night.

Is anyone surprised that three of our best are from Team Timi? You can draw your conclusions from there.
