#TheVoiceNigeria: The battles begin tonight and here’s what we think you should expect

It’s called a battle for a reason!

After six weeks of some mind-blowing, some great and others just blehh performances that characterised the blind auditions, we have made it to the next stage of the competition and from here, things are going to be intense.

As we know, each coach now has 12 talents on their teams, save for #TeamTimiDakolo that has ended with 13 because he embraced the singing prowess of a female duo. It is now the job of the coaches to cut down the size of their teams by pitting two talents against each other using a reverse method. How you ask?

Talents will be paired in twos and they will walk up on stage attempting to present a duet – think of it like that fire track Beneath Your Beautiful by Labyrinth and Emeli Sande or let’s bring it home, You Suppose Know by Bez and Yemi Alade – but rather than be in sync like duos do, they will try to outsing each other because their coaches will be picking only one person from each pair. What is soft work around here?

But as they say, all hope is not lost for the other talent who fails to impress his own coach as other coaches have the liberty to save his soul and win him to their own teams. Each coach is mandated to make two of such picks so they end up with eight talents on their team, after all said sang and done.

During the week, the talents all got singing and stage performances from two of Nigeria’s best: Darey Art Alade and Bez so there’s no cause to worry.

Sufficiently prepped for tonight? We hope so!
