#TheExperienceReport: The miracle of the Midnight Crew

The guys at the Midnight Crew are a modern miracle to be honest, and not just by their energetic heaven-must-come-down performances each year at The Experience, where they have become a must-get.

It’s because of the way the group has evolved.

Each of them has built a solo career: Pat, Odun, Micheal and Gbenga.

Yet they retain the group identity, turning 15 this year. Able to perform as solo acts at churches and other meetings, but still able to regroup, and do so often in a way that maintains the mother brand and in a way so many other groups, including the phenomenal Infinity were sadly unable to.

Our favourite, Mike Abdul has focused relentleness on Christian Fuji, a distinct ready-to-be-trademarked style immediately apparent from the screams across the stadium.

Their individual names are not household yet, and they still need to find a way to tell that story. But for them to be a perfect representation of the body of Christ – many, but one body – is inspiration for days.

If we are just like the rest of the world in the way we treat associations and evolution, we can’t be salt of the earth.

And this crew makes us proud to be of one faith.
