The #YNaijaCover: Is disqualified BBN housemate, Erica back to good graces?

Former Big Brother housemate, Ngozi ‘Erica’ Nlewedim, made her first camera appearance on Monday following her disqualification from the reality show, in which she apologised to her friends, family and fans for her inappropriate actions whilst in the house.

In an exclusive interview with the show’s organisers, the 26-year-old actress spoke about her relationship with Kiddwaya, her experiences in the house and tendered an unreserved apology to the housemates including Laycon, Prince and Dorathy for her behaviour.

Implications:

The apology helps position Erica in the minds of Nigerians, as a human capable of wrongdoings but brave enough to own up to them. This was a crucial step for her to take and an important strategy to help propel her forward.

Erica’s disqualification really doesn’t spell much loss for the actress, as she continues to have solid fanbase support. Her fans have raised more than N6million thus far via crowdfunding on the Gofundme platform to help support the actress. Her team had also set up a merch line featuring branded clothing for sale prior to her exit. Her public apology is also setting her on the right track to building a longstanding relationship with brands across Nigeria.

Nlewedim had been making great strides prior to her involvement with the reality show, and it seems her future still lies bright ahead even after her disqualification.
