The presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Kingsley Moghalu, in an interview with Premium Times, laid out his plans if he wins the election in 2019.

He also said, “Let me tell you something. This campaign is operating at three levels. There is a level of the 10,000 feet helicopter bombing that is going on – speak in the media, television interviews and all that. There is the ground game. We have a network across this country. The YPP has a network. Me, as a presidential candidate, I have a network across 774 local government areas of this country. You will be shocked when the result of this network demonstrates itself in February 2019.

“I will win the presidency like Donald Trump won it in America in 2016. When we went to bed thinking we had walked into the coronation of Hillary Clinton and woke up in the morning and Trump was the president. That is what is going to happen in Nigeria.”

Union Bank Friday, admitted it owns the combined cash of $2.8 million (over N1 billion at N360 a dollar) which the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said they intercepted at the international airport in Enugu.

The agency said the two suspects mentioned their affiliation to Union Bank and Bankers Warehouse, a cash-in-transit contractor.

Union Bank has denied any wrongdoing.

The Federal Government, through the Information Minister, Lai Mohammed pleaded yesterday with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to revert on its plan to embark on an industrial action at the end of the month over the proposed N30,000 national minimum wage.

Reacting to the 10-day ultimatum issued on Thursday by the labour leadership to the federal authorities to transmit the minimum wage bill to the National Assembly for consideration immediately, Lai Mohammed advocated ‘continuous engagement’ between the two sides with a view to resolving their differences.

“Continuous engagement, I think, is the key. We will continue to engage them and I think they do also fully understand what the challenges are, and both parties are determined to ensure that a common ground is arrived at, which will be comfortable for all,” Mohammed told reporters after a meeting with President Buhari at the Presidential Villa.
