The Future Project opens registration for new employability program and job fair – ‘Ready. Set. Work’

As part of The Future Project’s (TFP) drive to empower young people and as they enter the workforce, TFP is premiering Ready. Set. Work. a job fair and employability program that will assist young entrants into the job market and make them more appealing potential employees.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) in 2015 (2nd quarter) a total number of 77.1% of young people between ages 15-34 in the labor force are either employed or underemployed. While concerns have been raised on the statistics, efforts are being made towards motivating young people by providing necessary support systems.

Speakers for the program include Opeyemi Awoyemi Co-Founder, Jobberman; John-Paul Ugbe, HR Manager, Unilever; Rotimi Matthew, Director General, Institute Of Mentoring And Career Coaching Nigeria amongst others.
Important topics to be taught by seasoned human resource managers to finding a Job are:

The Interview: what employers are looking for?
Building an effective online profile
Employability skills
Etiquette
“Leadership: Trick or Treat”

Also, part of the activity lined up for the program is a Job fair where partnered employers will be on ground to recruit shortlisted participants.
