Mak ’Kusare is a Nigerian film director who won the prize for Screen Producer of the Year at The 2008 edition Future Awards Africa.

’Kusare, who graduated from the National Film Institute in Jos, was the brains behind the 2006 film, Ninety Degrees, which was shot and produced entirely on location in Jos. The film went on to win 3 awards at the Zuma Film Awards in Abuja, for  Best Director, Best First Film/Video of a Director and Best Feature Film awards.

‘Kusare, who runs his own his production company, Avehil Media, has worked with the BBC World Service Trust as a director on the HIV/AIDS-awareness TV series Wetin Dey alongside other young directors like Seke Somolu, Kenneth Gyang and Remi Vaughan. He is also responsible for the BBC’s “Sara’s Choice”, a film with a delay-sex-debut theme, targeted at young people.

His other credits include the feature film Champions of our Time, the TV show David’s Fall for Televista, a feature film, Comrade, as well as a host of music videos and commercials.
