The Daily Vulnerable: Choice and all

by Faith

One thing I know to be true is that love is a choice, not a feeling. We decide who we love, why we love them and for how long we will continue to love them or not.

I have been fortunate, and some may say unfortunate, to have been on both sides of the choice.

I have chosen and then unchosen.

I have been chosen and then been unchosen.

The latter, far more painful. I have once heard that breakups are worse than death, because the person is still alive but chooses to carry on in life, without you [specifically] in it. How do you not take that rejection personally?

Well, remember that sometimes, two good things aren’t always good together…it doesn’t detract from their goodness that their mixture is incompatible.  Being unchosen and doing the unchoosing is actually a gift, as you are releasing each other to find a better fit.

Will you force it or will you fight it?
