No media blackmail can stop Saraki’s prosecution – EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said no amount of media campaign against its acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu, will stop the prosecution of the former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki.

Ruga settlement is to resolve farmer/herder conflicts – Presidency

The Presidency on Sunday declared that Ruga settlements is aimed to resolve farmers/herders conflicts across the country.

There have been increasing opposition to the establishment of Ruga settlements in parts of the country. A statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity, Garba Shehu, reads ‘The Presidency wishes to draw attention to recent unhelpful comments regarding  the plan to stop roaming of cattle herders with the attendant clashes with farmers.’

No ‘Ruga Settlement’ in South-East, South-South 

The spokesman of the commission, Tony Orilade, made this known in a statement in Abuja on Sunday. Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi has said that there is no plan to establish Ruga settlement in any part of the South-East and South-South zones of Nigeria. Umahi disclosed this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Emma Uzor, in Abakaliki on Sunday.

Atiku slams N2.5bn libel suit against Buhari’s aide

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has instituted a N2billion libel action against an aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mrs. Lauretta Onochie.

Atiku is hoping the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory to punish Onochie who is Buhari’s Special Assistant on Social Media, over a post she shared through her twitter handle on May 7.

We don’t owe PDP any explanation on Buhari’s cabinet – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) says it does not owe the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) any explanation on the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Reacting to the comment of Kola Ologbondiyan,PDP sokesman that there is infighting among APC leaders because of appointments and “booty sharing”, Lanre Issa-Onilu, APC spokesman, asked the PDP to engage his party on issues and not “idle talk.”
